The Figure: In Passing is a two-person exhibition of paintings and ceramic sculptures. Both Beall and Glastellar abstract the human form to explore ephemeral moments, referencing personal interactions. Painterly qualities and layering techniques obscure referenced images which parallels the fading of memories over time. The capturing of fleeting moments serves to lengthen and reflect on those instances. Paint and ceramics are materials that capture both conscious and unconscious movement. The artists’ process of archiving these moments through creation contributes to the reflection on or exploration of themselves and others.
